Penuel, Jr., M.D. is a board certified physician in internal medicine and gastroenterology, specializing in therapeutic ERCP, colorectal cancer screenings, inflammatory bowel disease and capsule endoscopy.  He earned his undergraduate degree from Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, FL, and his medical degree from University of Miami School of Medicine in Miami, FL.  He then completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at Ochsner Foundation Hospital in New Orleans, LA.  He completed a fellowship in gastroenterology at Ochsner Foundation Hospital.

Dr. Penuel is the Chief of Gastroenterology and on the Hospital Executive Board at SWRMC.
